Helping elephants
Turf donates 2% of every sale to Pangea Trust, a non-profit sanctuary-in-the-making for elephants in need. Although Pangea Trust is relatively new, the expansive reserve in Portugal has been financially secured. With the help of grants and donations, Pangea Trust will rehabilitate and care for approximately 35 elephants turned over by circuses, zoos and other terrible conditions. These elephants will be protected and cared for the entirety of their lives.

Currently, there are over 600 captive elephants in Europe. Of these, about 30 are held in solitary confinement.

Leather production is linked to some serious sustainability issues, where massive animal rearing has severe environmental impacts such as water and land overuse, deforestation and hazardous gas emissions.
